Bootle Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 478 |
|
The peripatetic Bootle Mark Lodge rocked up on the Fylde coast for their latest meeting on Tuesday 30th April 2024 at St Anne’s Mason Hall.
24 Brethren were present including the RWPGM, VWBro’s Geof Bury APGM, VWBro. Maurice Evans and VWBro. Bob McGown all of whom are PGJO’s.
The WM, WBro. Tony Farrar PGSwdB, opened the meeting and offered the RWPGM the gavel of the Lodge who took it for a nano second and returned it with expediency as it was his official night off! The WM proceeded with the agenda for the meeting.
A sincere memoriam was given by VWBro. Bury in remembrance of WBro. David Winder APGM, who sadly passed away in December 2023.
The Brethren stood to order in remembrance of a Mark Mason who will be sadly missed.
Salutations were given to the RWPGM, APGM and VW Brethren, who all suitably responded.
The WM invested a number of Officers who couldn’t be present at the Installation meeting including: WBro. Roy Hedges as SW, WBro. John Dean as JO, WBro. Ray Pye as JD and WBro. Terry Dickinson as DC.
A ballot was held for the WM for the 24/25 season with 3, yes 3 names on the ballot paper! WBro. Roy Hedges was successful in the ballot and declared the WM for 24/25. |
|
WBro. Steve Walls PGSD was the only name put forward for Treasurer and so he was declared as Treasurer for the 24/25 season.
WBro. James Rashid ProvAGDC, was proposed as a joining member, much to his surprise!
All the business being completed, the WM closed the Lodge and the members and visitors retired to the bar and onto the festive board, where the usual excellent meal at St. Annes MH was enjoyed by all; Black pudding benedict, perfectly cooked steak and chips and an Eton mess which was all accompanied by a lively atmosphere and good craic amongst the Brethren present.
Bro. Stephen Kent and Bro. Chris Keogh were gently persuaded to exchange for suitable remuneration their old blue Mark ties for the very bright and shiny new red ones!
A good night was definitely had by all!
Next meeting 30th September 2024
